Multi-Engine Rating

Get a Multi-Engine Rating in 2-3 Days!

I offer an accelerated multi-engine rating for Private or Commercial certificated pilots that is completed in approximately 2-3 days in my Cessna 310L! The cost for this training is $5,000 plus the cost of the Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE), which is currently running $600. We can train on a half day Saturday, half day Sunday, then review and Checkride on Monday. Or we can do a full day on Sunday, and the Review and Checkride on Monday. You will finish this training with approximately 8 hours of dual instruction, and 1-1.5 hours of PIC for your Checkride (you will be endorsed for solo privileges so you can act as PIC for your Checkride). I schedule these training slots for every Sat/Sun/Monday or Sun/Monday, and they fill up fast. I am usually running about 6 weeks out on the calendar for anyone seeking to schedule a training date.

Multiengine Training Description

Multi-engine training is very unique in that its focus is primarily dedicated to the emergency procedures associated with One-Engine Inoperative, the aerodynamics and performance of the airplane in single engine operations, and reinforcement of the decision-making strategies needed to perform in a difficult situation. The skills developed from this training must be reinforced with regular recurrent training so multi-engine pilots are prepared for successfully handling these emergencies.

My Multi-Engine Training Airplane

There are numerous airplanes in the aviation world being used for multi-engine training. Aztecs, Commanche's, Seminoles, Diamonds, etc. But I believe the best combination of speed, performance, and complexity are found in the Cessna 310. Mine is a 1967 Cessna 310L. Click below to get information on the airplane you will be using for your multi-engine check ride.

Training resources

I am working very hard to develop a robust mix of materials for assisting my students preparation for the multi-engine training. By clicking the button below, you will be taken to the training resources page for Multi-Engine students. Here you will find what I've developed so far. I will be continually updating this page with my own content, as well as additional materials as those areas of need are discovered from training my students.
