Multi Add-on Course Description

Course Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply to a student getting a multi-engine add-on rating:

Course Includes

The multi-engine add-on rating is for both Private Pilots and Commercial pilots, although some of the oral exam questions can vary as well as flying a few different flight maneuvers depending on the certificate you possess. It is an accelerated program designed not to teach basic airmanship, but to teach you about a new way you can go out of control and crash in a twin engine airplane. The Airman Certification Standards give us guidance on what your training will be. There will be some familiar basic airwork, such as Steep Turns, Slow Flight, etc, but the primary purpose of this training is focused on emergencies and the various phases of flight you can have them. Getting your multi-engine rating is challenging, so come prepared, but you are going to have a blast in our airplanes!

Course Objectives

Many, but not all, of the course objectives are:

We have great study materials, and a course that’s been used for years now and has proven itself to be successful for first-attempt checkride passes of nearly 90%!

Approximate Ground & Flight Hours

Regardless of Private or Commercial pilot certificate, this accelerated course is built around approximately 10-hours of flight time, 6-9 hours of dual training and 1-1.5 hours of PIC time (You will be endorsed for solo/PIC privileges for your checkride and will log that time as PIC). Ground Instruction will be approximately 6-8hrs, encompassing pre-flight briefs, post-flight debriefs, multi-engine aerodynamics, aircraft systems, maneuvers training and certification standards, and other topics helpful to your training. Please study thoroughly prior to your scheduled weekend to maximize the impact of our flying time. Doing so has been the single most significant factor contributing to the success of a students training weekend.

Course Timeline

The multi-engine add-on course is a 3-day accelerated program, scheduled every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. You will have a full day of Ground Instruction and Flight training both Saturday and Sunday. On Monday we conduct a final review flight in the morning and your checkride will start around 12pm the same day. This is for both Private Pilots and Commercial Pilots.

Endorsements

The following endorsements will be given (provided student demonstrates the required skills):

Course Costs

The Multi-Engine Add-on Rating course costs $6,950, with some discounts or fees depending on method of payment you choose. See the breakdown below:

Payment Method3-Day/10-Hr Course
Standard Price (ACH/online check)$6,950
Credit/Debit Card (Std price plus 3%)$7,175
Cash (Std price less 3%)$6,750

NOTE: The payment method you select will need to be determined the week prior to the start of your training. All students, regardless of payment method, must pay a deposit (Credit/Debit/or ACH) prior to being scheduled on our calendar. Our FAQ’s page answers the common questions about payment, rescheduling, cancellation, etc. You will also have a separate DPE fee (currently $900) due to the examiner at the time of your checkride (they prefer cash)

We encourage students to look at what other schools offer when researching training costs. When considering us, please note our flight training times and aircraft being used when compared to others. These are the two primary determinants of program costs. Many of the other programs do the training with less flight hours in order to keep prices lower, when in fact our pricing is actually cheaper when flight hours are normalized (and your wanting more hours, not less). Additionally, underpowered aircraft can help the economics of other flight schools until you factor in the need for experience in a higher power aircraft. While seminole’s, commanche’s and other similar airframes offer a less expensive way to train, they simply don’t give students the exposure to the type of high-performance/complex airplanes many of us intend to fly as commercial pilots. Put simply, Attitude Aviators has one of the most compelling value propositions for the cost of training, and were middle of the road on our price point!
