ATP Multi-Engine Course Description

Course Prerequisites

The following prerequisites apply to a student getting an ATP Multi-Engine:

Course Includes

The ATP Multi-Engine is for pilots seeking to fly part 121 with the airlines and/or part 135 with certain charter operations. Sometimes prospective employers will offer to send students through their own ATP program as part of a job offer, but market conditions usually determine the availability of such offers. As a result, some pilots find it advantageous to obtain their own ATP prior to the application process to help differentiate them from other applicants.

Our course will include ground training to discuss aircraft systems and performance in the Cessna 310, scenarios that might be asked about during your checkride, and review of other areas of operations you have covered in your ATP-CTP school and knowledge exam. The Airman Certification Standards give us guidance on your what you will see during your checkride, and we use this to determine your expected flight maneuvers and standards of performance for each.

The ATP Multi-Engine is a checkride we’ve had great success with, primarily because of the caliber of student we work with. By the time someone has obtained the minimum experience and knowledge of this certificate, we are dealing with very professional pilot. And while you do not require any endorsements from us to sit for this checkride (you can self-endorse for this checkride), we’ve had a 100% pass rate for those who have worked with us.

Course Objectives

Since our students coming to us already have their ATP-CTP and knowledge tests completed, we focus primarily on the flight portion of your checkride, with ground reserved for learning about the Cessna 310’s systems and performance, as well as review of the areas you learned about at the ATP-CTP school, focusing on things you may discuss during your oral exam.

We have great study materials and a course that’s been used for years now, which has proven itself to be successful for first-attempt checkride passes of 100% for this checkride!

Approximate Ground & Flight Hours

As seen in the table below, we have a 2-day/8-hour course and a 3-day/12-hour course, which is meant to provide a cost savings to those students who have extensive multi-engine experience and do not require the additional flight time provided in the 3-day course. Or the 3-day/12-hour option for those that would like to pay for the additional flight time. Each training flight lasts approximately 2 hours to cover the items required by the ACS. Subsequently, your checkride flight will also last approximately 2 hours.

2-Day Course

Approximately 2-4 hours of ground instruction and approximately 8 hours of flight time (6 for training and 2 for your checkride flight)

3-Day Course

Approximately 4-6 hours of ground instruction and approximately 12 hours of flight time (10 for training and 2 for your checkride flight)

Course Timeline

The ATP Multi-Engine course is either a 2-Day or 3-day accelerated program, scheduled every Sunday and Monday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, depending on which you choose. In both courses, your checkride will be Monday afternoon.

Endorsements

The ATP Multi-Engine checkride does not require an endorsement from us. You are able to self-endorse for this practical exam.
